Forgiveness

As Christians, we’re called to forgive. We are to forgive because He forgave us (Ephesians 4:32) and we are to forgive so that we can be forgiven (Matthew 6:14). However, we’re human and forgiveness isn’t always easy. Sometimes, the idea of it can make us roll our eyes with pride and disgust. Nevertheless, we are called to a higher level of love than the world, and forgiveness is a part of that love.      If you followed my blogs before now, then you may have noticed that I pulled away for a minute. I stopped writing blogs, and my...

Perseverance = Endurance

What do you when the pressure is applied? How do you respond? Are you prone to giving up? Or do you keep going despite the difficulty?  I'll be the first to admit perseverance wasn't always in my vocabulary.  Nor did I actually want it to be. I figured as long as I tried a "little" that was good for me.  I used to think hard was ok (that's makes you a stronger person). But too hard? No can do! I didn't want any parts of it.  If things got too hard I'd immediately start to doubt it's godly authenticity, saying things...

Redeemed!

Redeemed (v) - to buy back; to save by payment of a ransom; to free from the consequences of sin.  What does redemption mean to you? Think about a time when the Lord redeemed you. Do you remember how you felt (happy, relieved, all of the above)?  For me personally redemption is a second chance, it's a clean slate, its restoration, its renewal. It’s one of the best feelings in the world (lol).  We don’t deserve the Lord or his love yet He gives them both freely.   We serve a God that even as his enemies He loved us so...

What is Faith?

What is Faith?

What is faith? Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance for what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1 NIV). What is faith to you? Think about Hebrews 11:1 and put into your own words. If I put into my own words, faith is completely trusting in what we hope to be true and believing in what we cannot see. The Good News tells us that God makes us right in his sight. This is accomplished from start to finish by faith. As the Scriptures say, “It is through faith that a righteous person has life.” (Romans 1:17...

Let It Go!

So I know by the title you’re probably assuming this blog is about forgiveness or something, not this time. Today we’ll be talking about letting go of your life.   In Scripture, Jesus tells us to give up our own way, pick up our crosses daily and follow Him (Luke 9:23 NLT). He also says, “if you cling to your life, you will lose it; but if you give up your life for me, you will find it (Matthew 10:39)."   Now, in my blogs I enjoy being transparent (I think it helps).  So here it goes.  I’m a control freak. ...
