Surrender

What does surrendering to God's will mean to me?It means choosing to obey Him, and his commands even when it's hard or even when I don't want to. What does disobeying God's will tend to do for your life?For me, it could prolong blessings, make matters worse, or flat out change the outcome of generations. In this blog I'd like to compare and contrast the outcomes of two men whose surrender to God looked completely different.   First, let's start with Jonah. As some of us know, in the book of Jonah God commanded Jonah to go to the city...

Undeserved Favor

This past week, God reminded me of His grace and love for us. Sometimes I get so caught up in the rat race of life that I forget the favor God shows is undeserved, and that's what makes it so beautiful.   The book He led me to was Romans chapter 5. Now, I'm not going to post the entire chapter (although I recommend you read it), but the part that stuck out the most to me was verses 6-8. You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will...

Forgiveness

As Christians, we’re called to forgive. We are to forgive because He forgave us (Ephesians 4:32) and we are to forgive so that we can be forgiven (Matthew 6:14). However, we’re human and forgiveness isn’t always easy. Sometimes, the idea of it can make us roll our eyes with pride and disgust. I stopped writing blogs, and my...

Perseverance = Endurance

What do you when the pressure is applied? How do you respond? Are you prone to giving up? Or do you keep going despite the difficulty?  I'll be the first to admit perseverance wasn't always in my vocabulary.  Nor did I actually want it to be. I figured as long as I tried a "little" that was good for me.  I used to think hard was ok (that's makes you a stronger person). But too hard? No can do! I didn't want any parts of it.  If things got too hard I'd immediately start to doubt it's godly authenticity, saying things...

Redeemed!

Redeemed!

Redeemed (v) - to buy back; to save by payment of a ransom; to free from the consequences of sin.  What does redemption mean to you? Think about a time when the Lord redeemed you. Do you remember how you felt (happy, relieved, all of the above)?  For me personally redemption is a second chance, it's a clean slate, its restoration, its renewal. It’s one of the best feelings in the world (lol).  We don’t deserve the Lord or his love yet He gives them both freely.   We serve a God that even as his enemies He loved us so...
